Our Mission
Cleaning 4 Kids’ mission is to provide one free organic, green housecleaning each month to the families of children who live at home and are in treatment for cancer. Our goal is to create a safer environment for children who have weakened immune systems, and to lessen the worry and stress for parents and caregivers at this critical time.
After seeing several friends in the same line of work die of cancer, I decided working with so many toxic chemicals is dangerous to our health.
History
Organic Cleaning Marin (formerly A Home Maintenance) was founded by Jaime Perez. Jaime emigrated to the US in 1990 and soon joined the ranks of service workers in the home and commercial cleaning industry. At that time, the use of harsh chemicals was the unquestioned standard. However, over the years, Perez experienced a revelation, as one after another of his co-workers developed cancer and died. He felt there had to be a better way to clean, without being exposed to toxic materials. Jaime founded his own company in 1992 and by 2008, he’d gone completely organic, eco-friendly green, to the delight of his expanding client base.
Giving Back
Cleaning 4 Kids was founded in 2018. As individuals who honor family and community, Jaime and his team decided that serving Marin families who have a child fighting cancer would give them the deepest satisfaction while providing a needed service to families who already have enough to worry about. Currently, our geographic focus in Marin County, California.
